I've used this lantern on 2 backpacking trips so far. On the first one it worked great - easy to start and very bright. But I destroyed one (of the 2 shipped with the product) while learning to light it the first time. The second worked great on my trip, but it dissolved on the way back home bouncing in the car. For the second trip, guess what - no mantles! They are a bit hard to find so when you do, buy plenty!
