Camping Gear - Kids Need Some Too

Make your kid feel like Bear Grylls, the ultimate outdoorsman and adventurer. Camping Gear-Kids style is just the thing to make your child feel responsible and special during your family camping trips. Even if your camping trips involve setting up tent in the back yard, your kid will feel like you're in the Yellowstone with some cool camping gear of his own.

You don't have to buy top of the line camping equipment, after all your child doesn't know the difference between brand names and off brands... so don't go crazy. This is a learning experience to help your child to grow into an adventure, feel a bit of responsibility and feel like Bear.

Some kids get dress up clothes... consider their first camping gear dress-up stuff. To really see if camping and the outdoors is something your child wants to pursue. And like all other young hobbies, with time start adding the nicer camping gear into the pile.

So what is some of the camping gear kids should start with?

The little tools: compasses, small Swiss army knife (depending on the age of course), whistles, wildlife books, etc.

Bigger tools: Camping tents that your child and friends can put up together for back yard camp nights, sleeping bags, non-fire lantern, and small daypacks or hiking backpacks.

When your family heads out for camping trips your child will be prepped and excited to help you set up the camp site and explore the wilderness with you. Camping is a great way for kids to learn basic survival skills that everyone should know but few ever do.

On top of that you and your child will have great memories together that he/she will take with them. If camping does seem to be something you child likes to pursue look into your local Boyscout organizations or look to see if your local recreation departments offer survival courses for children... and then of course start planning great camping trips.

Saving Money Tips - Consider Going Camping

Next time you are thinking about where to take yourself for your next holiday, why not consider exploring the bush / beach and going camping. Camping can be so much fun. There are so many beautiful places that you can pitch a tent and spend quality time with your loved ones. Camping at the bush / beach can be really relaxing and provide you with much needed time to chill out and forget the hectic rat race of everyday life. Best of all these scenic campsites generally cost very little for overnight camping compared to the price of paying for accommodation in a hotel / motel.

You need to ensure you don't rush out and spend large amounts of money on camping equipment though unless you have been before and know that camping is for you. Instead of buying all of the equipment at the start, see if you can either hire it or borrow it from a friend / family member. If you do want to buy some equipment, why not see if you can get yourself a good second hand bargain.

Your camping trip can be as simple or as stylish as you choose it to be. Some campgrounds offer all the creature comforts such as hot showers and toilet facilities, while others are set in remote bushland clearings without any facilities. You need to be organised in advance and pack your vehicle carefully to ensure you don't forget anything. You might also need to book your site for the busier camp grounds to avoid disappointment. Also, ensure you hold any other appropriate entry permits or passes.

We have provided you with some clues to get you started on your planning for your next camping adventure:

1. Choose where you might like to go camping

  • Plan what drinks you would like including any special bottles of wine / glasses of beer / port etc

  • Ensure you organise foods that are quick and easy to prepare away from a normal kitchen

  • Try and choose items on the menu so that everyone can have a good rest and someone isn't tied to kitchen duties the whole time you are away

  • Ensure you pack your food appropriately so that you protect it from extreme heat or cold

  • Secure your food in sturdy strong containers to keep out any hungry wildlife

  • Take along freezer blocks / ice packs / dry ice to keep your cold items cold - ideally try and pack non perishable items

4. Organise and pack your equipment

Favorite Camping Gear And Essential Safety Tips

If you have not tried camping before, you would not be able to fathom why so many folks would spend their weekend holidays in the wilderness living in camping tents and making do with whatever they have brought with them. Camping is an outdoor activity that brings out the adventurer in us and allows us to enjoy nature at its best. It provides for a great family bonding experience and provides for a different venue for us to explore each time. Whether we go to another lakeside or forest park or even the same campsite, it would still bring a different experience as nature keeps changing. What is important is to make each trip as comfortable and safe as we could every time.

As a beginner it was recommended to get the basic camping gear that are not exactly the best but could equipped you well as you try to experience camping the first time. On each outdoor trip after that, you will begin to realize what is important and what items you need to rely on the most. By now, you would have realized that a good camping tent is essential. You have the first hand knowledge as to what style, size, and material of tent can provide you protection from the elements as well as offer you a safe and comfortable refuge. Investing on more expensive and top quality camping equipment that can offer you better protection and comfort is now your top priority.

To ensure that your camping experience would be worth repeating, the need for Coleman camping gear that have been tried and tested should always be part of your packed essentials. You want camping equipment that you can rely on to give you good service while you are out there in the woods. The need for a camping stove that is compact and light but with easy startup, heat regulator as well as protection from the wind would ensure that you would not have problems cooking up your meals in whatever weather condition.

As much as huddling around a campfire for warmth is part of a great camping experience, you must not leave it burning when you turn in for the night. To keep you warm throughout the night, all you need is your good reliable sleeping bag. If there is a need to check things out in the dark, it is best to bring with you a compact flashlight and lantern for this purpose. Packing a set of extra batteries would be important not only for these Coleman camping gear but also for your cell phone and radio equipment especially in cases of emergencies. You should not also forget packing your first aid kit and any prescription medication you need.

As most campers attest, camping is never complete without your favorite Coleman camping gear. From your tent and sleeping bags to camping furniture and cooking stoves, Coleman has kept campers company on their adventures. These tried and test camping gear has ensured to make life a bit easier so that you can fully enjoy the outdoor experience. Whether you are camping solo or with your family, innovations made on camping equipment enabled you to travel light as much as you can without compromising comfort and safety.

Camping Is A Great Family & Kids Activity

Camping is a great way to spend some time bonding with the whole family. There are activities for everyone to enjoy and it can be a fun adventure. It is also a great way for kids to enjoy their summer vacation away from their parents. They can have fun and learn a lot about nature.

Camping for Families

There are many places in the United States for family camping fun. Locations are available across the country so there is no need to travel great distances to enjoy the outdoors with the whole family. Using the Internet to research available sites is an ideal tool to determine the areas that are closest.

Once you determine where to go, plan on packing all the essentials so your experience is rewarding and safe. Pack tents and sleeping gear so you can gather around the fire and cook a great meal while telling ghost stories or playing games. Also be sure to bring equipment and supplies in case of emergency or accident. Bring a survival kit and first aid kit. These are readily available, pre made, in pharmacies and outdoor sporting goods stores. Make a list of all necessary supplies and check off the list as you pack to ensure nothing is forgotten.

Plan to enjoy activities that are fun for the entire family. Nature walks and hiking are a great way to explore the outdoors and learn about nature. Bring along nature and wildlife guides to investigate different types of insects, animals and plant life. Bring along a camera, binoculars and a magnifying glass. Discuss the different types of insects, plants and wildlife you encounter while on your trek. Look up the characteristics of each in your guide to determine what they are and how they are useful in nature.

Water activities like swimming, canoing and fishing are a great way to enjoy the outdoors. If you are participating in water activities, make sure to wear life vests for safety. Spending the day fishing can be relaxing and enjoying. You can also go back to the camp with your catch and cook it for dinner. It's a great way to share in outdoor survival techniques while having a lot of fun.

Children's Camping

Having the kids go off to a summer camp is a great way to get some time alone while allowing the kids to have a fun and educational time. Summer camps are available throughout the country and are affordable ways to let the kids have some summer fun. Activities are supervised by adults and teen counselors and they will learn new skills. Most summer camps have a variety of activities, games and contests to promote individual growth, foster new friendships and enhance team building skills.

Many summer camps for children will include outdoor games and races. Swimming and canoeing are popular. Obstacle courses for team building and exercise are also standard activities. Guided nature tours where wildlife and plant life are pointed out and discussed will educate children on the environment around them and the importance of nature. Craft times may include learning pottery, art and woodworking. Campfire cooking will bring everyone together for an enjoyable evening of storytelling and great food.

Whether camping as a family or having the kids go to a summer camp, it's a great way to learn about nature and the outdoors. It is also a way for families to bond and for children to nurture new friendships. If you want to have a great summertime experience, try camping as a fun and educational vacation choice.

Camping Lantern Guide

Camping is a fun activity that you can do with your whole family as an outing, or alone for some relaxing time. Whatever you are doing on your camping trip, there are a few pieces of equipment that are absolutely essential.

You need to be looking at getting tents, sleeping bags, food, and of course, a camping lantern. This is often forgotten. However, it is a piece of equipment that is essential, and you will really enhance and make your camping experience much more comfortable with a camping lantern. The fact is that you have a lot of choices, and it can be tough to find the one that is right for you. The trick is to know what you need from your camping lantern, and know what kind of camping experience you want. Here we will go through the different types of camping lanterns, and hopefully you will have a better idea of what you want and what you need.

There are quite a few choices out there, and you will be sure to find the camping lantern that suits you. Lets first look at the good old gas camping lantern. This has many pros and cons, much like anything else in life, and it is a very popular choice, especially amongst experienced campers. You will find that the gas camping lantern gives off simply the best light of them all. This is very important as it means that you can see very well.

Other added advantages are that they are very cheap to run, and you can use the same fuel that you are probably using for your other camping appliances. This means you don't have to buy two sets of fuel. They also last a long time as they burn slowly. The negative of them is that they can get really hot. This is very dangerous if you have kids or pets around, as they might get close to it and burn himself or herself, or even cause an accident. These lamps of very strong and it is unlikely that there will be any damage done if you push it over, but the burns risk is enough to think twice. You can also get a battery powered lantern, which is a much safer brand as it does not heat up. The light on it in however, no where near as good as the gas camping lantern. Solar camping lanterns are the new buzz and they are much like battery powered ones in their pros and cons.

As you can see you have a choice of camping lantern, and it is up to you to figure out what kind of camping experience you are looking for.

Camping lanterns are an essential piece of camping equipment. Find the right gas camping lantern out there for you.

Jeep Owners Gifts

Jeep enthusiasts are popularly known as active outdoor people. Most of them are adventurers and have free a spirit. These are some of the things you need to remember whenever you want to pick a gift for a jeep owner in your life. You could get a sound bar to enhance the owner's listening experience. They are appropriate as they are comfortably placed at the ear level. What is more, the owner does not have to worry about the sound bar obstructing the storage space or his comfort while driving.

A duffel bag for jeep is also a good gift idea. You can choose to purchase the 22 inch or the 30 inch one depending on how it will be used. The advantage is that the duffel bag is durable just like the jeep. What is more, you can also opt for a radio lantern. This is normally designed with an emergency siren, blinker as well as an earphone. It can be plugged to a cigarette light that has an AC adapter. Furthermore, it has also been designed with a rechargeable internal battery pack.

Jeep enthusiasts would also love to receive jeep bikes as well as jeep trikes so that the whole family can have fun together in these wheels. What better way to keep the enthusiast thrilled than a jeep movie? Quite a number of classic movies featuring jeeps are available in movie stores. Four Jills in a Jeep and Virtual History of Cars and Jeeps are just some of the classic movies that any jeep enthusiasts would love to add to their movie collection.

Picking gifts for women can be tricky since they may not be interested in technical stuff as opposed to men. Therefore if you are buying a gift for a female jeep enthusiast you might consider getting her an Anti-Monkey Butt T-shirt for that exciting off-road experience. All jeep owners must have a neon clock for the jeep. It bears the updated jeep logo in the center and only requires one battery. However, it comes together with an AC plug which is used for the neon light.

Consider purchasing a travel mug which is also a necessary accessory in any jeep. It has been designed with a double insulation for the wall which ensures that drinks are kept cold. What is more, it can still be used to keep drinks warm by connecting it to the car adapter. Further still, the mugs have splash proof lids which ensures that drinks that are not spilt when moving through the bumpy roads.

A jeep pocketknife as well as a multi-tool are also convenient especially for the adventurers' types who frequently go camping. Further still, you can choose to buy a jeep watch. These normally come in a rugged design and have the jeep logo in scripted on them. For jeep owners who have children, you may consider getting jeep outfits for them. Jeep jewelry is also available for the ladies. You could buy jeep model charms or earrings.
